Quality and Quantity

I have been a member of School Lunch Farm's CSA program for 1 season. Last season I purchased a half-share and enjoyed it so much I am purchasing a full-share this season. I found the produce to be varied and bountiful and of excellent quality. Extras like honey and pumpkins were a pleasant surprise! I've participated in work days on the farm and find the growing practices to be responsible and well planned. Margaret is knowledgeable, experienced and passionate. I would recommend School Lunch Farm to anyone.

School Lunch CSA is wonderful! 2013 was our families first season with School Lunch Farm CSA and we were extremely pleased with the experience. My kids and I volunteered a few times at the farm. The first time we volunteered, my 8 year old son planted seeds for germination. He then checked on "his plants" progress every few weeks. I grew up in a farming community and am happy that my children can now have a stronger connection to their food source through School Lunch CSA. Each week we looked forward to seeing what we would get in our share of produce. My personal favorite was the Tuscan Kale! Being a member of School Lunch Farm has benefitted my family with nutritious food at a good value, adventures with new produce varieties and a connection with our food. We are counting the days until this years harvest starts!

My family and I have been members and volunteers at the farm for two seasons. It's great knowing where our food comes from and how it's being grown - and even better to take part in helping it grow! The variety of vegetables keeps cooking and eating interesting and the freshness is unparalleled. It's truly a gift to have this food resource in our region.

A local gem I have wanted to support a CSA for awhile and I found School Lunch Farm by accident and what a beautiful accident it was! Each week I would eagerly await what Margaret had in store for us. From the heirloom tomatoes, to the butternut squash, and to all the tomatillos in between, each share would never disappoint. The portions are more than a 2 person household can eat but I am reaping the benefits of freezing my share at the peak of their freshness. Kale frittatas, broccoli and cauliflower gratins, and each winter soup contains the organic garlic and all those little bundles of herb ~ still from the farm. This local gem is so worth the money.

School Lunch Farm CSA

This was my first year taking part of a CSA. I loved getting all of the variety of vegetables each week. I got to try new foods that I had never eaten before. The vegetables were harvested the morning of the pick up and tasted great. I will be returning next season. Margaret also gave me the opportunity to volunteer. It was a great learning experience as well.

Expanding our cuisine--in a healthy way
As first-time organic CSA-ers, we've introduced new veggies into our diet and expanded our food horizons in a healthy way. Margaret and her volunteers provide a warm welcome each week and the distribution center is well-organized with a fine variety. We especially loved the baby greens and the squashes as well as the tomatillos and the fresh herbs. School Lunch Farm is truly authentic farming with only the best organic practices.

Great farm, great food, great value

School Lunch Farm offers the high quality and variety that I want, and it feels great to eat locally grown, organic whole food. Shares are often more than my family of three can eat in a week. I also appreciate that the farmer is very organized and professional, a good manager and a good communicator. After two years visiting other farms and sampling other CSA shares, I am very happy with School Lunch Farm.
